Along with my high willpower, I ran every day for 2 months. And when this process was over, I realized that all-round changes were beyond expectations.
Jogging every day is always divided into two schools: “Those who wake up every morning ready to stride” and “those who wake up to turn off the alarm (n times)”.
Not only me, but a lot of people have the ability to plunge into a battle for rank in the workplace; rather than a fight to gain weight. Gradually, size became an obsession, permeating every aspect of my life.
As the way I hardly can choose a satisfactory item. Or after the night out, I woke up in fear of seeing the photos I would be tagged in. Although at school there were always physical education hours, they seemed to become an obsession for me. is a tool to practice.
Time to change
But my life began to change when I took a part-time job at a Summer camp. I spend a lot of people watching and advising activities here. And due to the nature of the job, I have to jog a lot every day. It was then that I realized: It’s time to change.
So I made a promise to myself: Every day I would run to a lamppost along the distance and back to my sleeping place. As well as self-estimate this route runs almost 2km. By the standards of runners, this is a short distance. But for me at that time, it was a journey of effort; because I had never run a full 1km.
Along with my high will, I ran every day for 2 months working here. When this process was over, it was time for me to realize the radical changes. I have gone from fear to this sport; to become a coach for the long run. As well as being more confident, more brave in every aspect of life. So I will tell you the secrets for me to make this “plan” possible.
Make it a habit
I have a specific schedule and location for running every day.
Time: After lunch
Running distance: long distance covered with trees.
According to research by the British Journal of Health Psychology, it was found that 91% of people who specifically wrote their plans would be better able to implement them. Jogging becomes an integral part of the day; and absolutely not deviate from the plan no matter what. I did it without thinking, like brushing my teeth or deodorizing every morning.
Control what is possible
After every afternoon, I have to be really strict with myself about my plan. Therefore, I must also limit as much as frills can. Like you’re going to wear the same type of running clothes every day: black pants and a V-neck T-shirt. Just like to compromise yourself that at the end of every hour you’ll get a little “smelly”. But it is a summer camp anyway, and the main purpose is to practice rather than go to fashion week.
Set smart goals
Actually the initial goal I set for running every day was: I wanted to lose a certain amount of weight to fit in nice jeans. Do not try to accomplish great goals. Instead, set yourself a short-term goal. Step by step endurance to greater results. Then you will get bigger sweet fruits than you think.
Do not be too hard on yourself
To celebrate results beyond what is expected; I used a speedometer to calculate the distance I could run for 15 minutes. I spent the entire 60 days believing that the distance was nearly 2km; but the shameful fact that they are less than 1km long. I know that myself has never been a best runner. But at least I have tried, and that’s what makes me feel proud.
That summer, I learned how to love what running every day brings to fruition. It was a relentless effort and the belief that I could get what I wanted. And even though twelve years later, I still jog regularly and chase that inspiration every day.
