Here are four tips for not touching your face:
- Use a dry paper towel
When you feel the urge to itch, need to scratch, rub your nose or adjust your glasses or grab a tissue, instead of using your hands.
If you find yourself sneezing without a tissue, sneeze into your elbow instead of your hand. Sneezing into your hands increases your ability to spread germs to other people and objects.
2. Recognize the reason for touching your face
Dr. Vanessa Raabe, made this suggestion: “Find out why you touch your face.” Once you are aware of when and why you touch your face, it will solve the root cause. “Using scented soaps or lotions may help,” said Dr. Zach Sikora, a clinical psychologist in Chicago.

Practicing meditation exercises and focusing on your breath will help boost the immune system. On the other hand, when your hands are clean, touching your face is not scary. “This is a natural behavior that we all do, not so much as an end,” Dr. Shankman added.
