For those involved in extreme sports, the stereotype of sports is no longer an obstacle. The benefits of sports to the body and mind of people are no longer strange to us, but with extreme sports, its positive effects will surely surprise many people.

Unexpected benefits

An interview conducted with people aged 30 to 70 participating in extreme sports has shown that extreme sports help them create many positive and profound changes for life, both in short and long term.

Extreme sports help players recognize and unleash many emotions, such as fear or anxiety, without having to limit their potential. This is considered an extremely effective way to help you relieve your mood and frustrations in life. Therefore, extreme sports provide the same experience and feeling of serenity as mindfulness meditation.

Physical activity will help develop the hippocampus (located in the temporal lobe, the gateway to help the brain remember information). This is especially beneficial for middle-aged people, when memory is gradually declining. Research has shown that middle-aged people spend 30-40 minutes a day on physical activity, increasing the hippocampus by 2%, which means improving memory for a long time.

Besides, adventures also help us increase tolerance, ability to solve unexpected problems and uncertainties in life.

Each time you overcome the challenge, it is also one time you overcome yourself, overcome your fears. This helps you become more confident. Therefore, extreme sports not only help you conquer nature but also improve your physical and mental health.

Those who have ever participated in adventure sports share, they get the extraordinary feeling that everyday activities cannot bring. When participating in extreme sports, their ability to hear, look and feel is enhanced.

Perhaps that is the reason many people who do not participate in extreme sports think it is “unusual”. However, we need to accept and understand that extreme sports are meaningful and beneficial for people, if we know how to manage ourselves and keep it safe.
